FAQ
You can send anything that fits within the Lifekive Box (which is a 24” x 18” x 4” crush-proof box). Greeting cards, letters, souvenirs, special clothing, jewelry, as well as photos or slides. We recommend not sending breakables or glass, or very carefully wrapping them. Your first 20 items are included. Each additional physical artifact is $2 per item, and each additional photo is $0.50 each.
We consider an item a single piece that can be captured in one photograph. A 100-page photo album or yearbook would count as 100 items, unless you just want us to photograph the album or yearbook itself.
The book is 8x8 hardcover with archival lay-flat pages. They are securely bound in buckram, with a 3.5 x 3.5 image showcased on the front. Books are a maximum of 40 pages. Typically there will be one image featured per page, but if you send more than 40 items we'll include multiple images per page so that all of your artifacts are captured.
Our typical timeframe for digitizing your items is 4 – 6 weeks once we receive your items. The book will take about 1-2 weeks longer to print and ship.
You certainly can, but we're experts at the photography and editing process! We use top-of-the-line equipment, lighting, and software for the highest quality image output.
